Troy Trimble, Instrumental Music Director
Mr. Trimble started his tenure as the instrumental music director at Fullerton Union High School in the fall of 2013. He has since seen the Marching Band program grow in numbers and accomplishments from a fledging group to a competitive and award winning ensemble that routinely performs in the community and at local tournaments. He personally ushered back both the color guard and percussion ensemble components to the music program to become key components to the overall program offerings. Under his baton, the pit orchestra for the performing arts department’s annual spring musical has been nominated for orchestra of the year by both the JRays and the Orange County Cappies (2015 and 2016). Mr. Trimble is also the director of the Jazz Ensemble and Concert Band, and teaches guitar, piano and AP Music Theory courses at FUHS.
Mr. Trimble graduated from Vanguard University with a B.A. in History/Political Science with a minor in Music and returned to complete a second B.A. in General Music a few years later. As a member of the music department at Vanguard University, he played lead trombone in the jazz ensemble and university orchestra. He served as orchestra president and jazz ensemble vice president during his time in the ensembles. Mr. Trimble also completed an M.A. in Education from Vanguard University as part of his decision to teach full time. He is currently a state council member of the California Music Educators Association (CMEA) serving as Tri-M Representative for the state of California since 2015.
Mr. Trimble resides in Garden Grove with his wife, Crystal and his dog, Rommel.
